Is the sky falling when it comes to worldwide IT spending? No, not really. Things have just slowed down a bit due to the delayed release of Apple?s IPhone, the cooling in the explosive growth of smartphones, and the macroeconomic uncertainty in many emerging markets. IT spending, however, is still expected to increase 4.1 percent worldwide this year as companies replace old servers, storage, and network gear. Also, cloud computing will continue to drive service revenue as business move more of their traditional IT budget in that direction.
