Recently, HP and Intel published a white paper analyzing use of new cooling system technologies for data centers such as free air and water-based cooling. Only one in five data centers have tried liquid cooling with only 6 percent using it right now. Companies generally do not try new technologies in cooling unless their company is undergoing major restructuring anyway, and it is generally advisable to restructure data infrastructure before changing the cooling system. However, it is expected that with greater exposure to the idea, more people will find it desirable to change their cooling system in the future.
